Here's the reading schedule I propose (altered from one by christina_reads at https://www.librarything.com/topic/206069). It allows for 6 weeks to read and post each Volume, which in my translation is just over 300 pages.
Volume 1 (Books 1-3) -- August 15 through September 26 Volume 2 (Books 4-8) -- September 27 through November 9 Volume 3 (Books 9-11) --November 10 through December 31 Volume 4 (Books 12-15 & Epilogues) --January 1 though February 12
Is everyone ok with not stressing over spoilers, as long as they are posted only about the parts of the book that fall within the timespan listed above? I mean, I will need all of the help I can get to make it through this, so reading a spoiler in a post someone else wrote will be a blessing!
Absolutely stress-free over spoilers, especially for books over 100 years old. :) I've read that the joy of this book is in the descriptions and the interplay among characters, and in the first few pages it seems that way.
My current stress is coming from Anna Pavlovna's pretention to invite everyone in society to her soiree and trying to remember which is which. I found a character list and a family tree - I'll post separately.
I think this is manageable, I will let you know again though September 26. This is my first online book club, so not sure how it all works. But will figure it as it goes. Excited to read the book!
Jerrod, is there a way for us to subscribe to updates? I've been checking the site regularly, but as we go further along in the book I'm afraid I might miss a comment or update. No worries if not, but never hurts to ask!
The reading schedule looks good to me. I'm a bit tardy at getting started, but put aside a chunk of time for reading tonight. I forgot how confusing this many characters was! It's been a few years since Anna, so I'll have to get back in Tolstoy mode.

This schedule is working well, thank you again Jerrod. I'm a few pages into Book 7.
